Someone on Reddit recommended these and I picked them up without reading any other reviews. I'm so glad I did because these are easily the best headphones I've ever used for running. Some of the negative reviews I've read here and seen on youtube are obviously from non-runners expecting the sound quality to be similar to similarly priced normal headphones/earbuds. That is not a fair comparison at all. You sacrifice some sound quality (especially bass) for significantly increased safety and mind blowing comfort.

If you've tried running with normal ear buds you know that after a while they can start to get annoying. They irritate your ear canal, and even with hooks will slip around requiring you to push them back in or readjust them every so often. Those annoyances are non-existent with these. Nothing is actually in your ears. They're extremely light weight and stay in place regardless of how long or hard you run or how much you sweat. The connecting band that goes around the back is semi-rigid and doesn't touch your head or neck. I've actually seen people complain about that and want it to fit snug against their neck, but I completely disagree. Having a cord touching or bouncing against my skin while I'm running is also annoying and it's clear that the rigid design of these is intentional and meant to avoid that. I really hope that AfterShokz doesn't stray from that design choice in future models. One complaint says they don't like the design because they can't lay their head back with them on, but that's not what these are for. These are for active people doing things like running, hiking, and cycling. If you want headphones for relaxing around the house, there's other headphones for that.

Another reason these are great is that more and more races are starting to ban headphones for safety reasons. The ones that do are also starting to add exemptions for bone conducting headphones. If your race has a headphone ban but no exemption email the RD and ask for one. The other benefit for races is you can hear race directions and the countdown at the starting line as well as spectators cheering you on. Previously I had to either choose music or the spectators but now I'm looking forward to hearing both!

When people ask me what gear I use for running, I'll tell them. But I've never bought anything that has made me a zealot until now. I want to tell everyone I possibly can about these things. They're that great. You really have to experience them to understand. No description will do them justice. If you're really on the fence, try looking for a place you can demo them like your local running store or a race expo.

Anyway, I stand by this review 100%. If you're a fellow runner and buy these and don't find them to be the most comfortable headphones you've ever run in, let me know. Because as far as I know, nothing beats these.

Like many other people, I got tired of earphones falling out, and I was uncomfortable with not being able to hear the surrounding sounds when on the road.

Having a large head. I was concerned that these may not fit, however they fit perfectly. There is no movement when I walk or run, and as others have indicated, they will no doubt soon become so comfortable that I will wander around the house looking for them, only to find them on my head.

I have found that I now prefer to turn the volume down to allow more of the surrounding sounds to filter in. I will probably keep a pair of $20 standard earphones in the case for airplanes etc. where one may wish to block out the background noise.

I carry my phone in a waist band, and have found the if I place the phone on my back I get a good Bluetooth connection.

Oh, and lastly, before you head out for a 6am Sunday run, call your home phone number first. While experimenting with the pause, fast forward button, if you press once then twice, you will redial the last number, you will then find yourself scrambling to stop the call, while trying to remember who you last called and how thrilled they will be to hear from you at that time!

Bass weaker than conventional earbuds/headphones, otherwise very lightweight, good fit, decent sound. I got these for the gym cause I needed something that wouldn’t have wires dangling in the way, and wouldn’t keep slipping out of of ears when I sweat. These work great for that, plus I can hear what’s going on around me. If you’re looking for a charging case, I got the Smatree SmaCase S30 and these for perfectly inside them so they can be charged while being stored in my gym bag.

My work recently decided to move away from stereos in the workplace. The only approved headphones are ones like these that allow you to be aware of your surroundings. After trying out a couple of co-workers options, I decided to get these. I mostly listen to books or podcasts. For that these have worked great. I only use them with the earplugs in. For music they work fine, but I am not anywhere close to an audiophile. So reasonable sound quality is fine with me. I have been thoroughly happy with my purchase, and would recommend them to anyone that needs headphones with at least some situational awareness required. On a side note, battery life has been 9 - 10 hours. So extremely happy there.

Their is something really cool about still being able to hear everything around me while listening to my music with these. The way it presents music like this is something special. Aside from that, other key points to my review:
-Obviously not the strong point, but... sound quality is actually not as bad as I was expecting. Bass is barely there, and cuts out at low enough frequencies, but high notes and voices actually sound surprisingly nice. Not bright and fatiguing, but "airy" sounding if that makes sense. Imaging/placement of sounds is actually a lot better than other cheap iem's I've heard, and is also kind of a cool sensation.
-Range is cool, stays connected to my phone across the house, does skip some times though.
-They're comfy, I don't feel pressure where it touches my head. Can wear sunglasses and a bucket hat with these no problem. I wear these at work (Amazon delivery man), and I basically jog back and forth between the van and the customers house 6-7 hours a day and they don't bounce around or anything.
-Battery easily lasts all day while delivering too. I keep it at a reasonable volume though.
-When I first played music through them before putting them on my hear, it sounded like everyone around me would be able to hear them, but that is not the case. In fact, my brother couldn't make out my music when I asked him to try. Again, I don't blast them though.
-Controls are very easy, can use the google assistant on my phone with them too.

Have used them for the past few days, at work and at home, and I'm really enjoying these so far; do not regret the purchase.
